Introducing the Chefs

Chef Phil Jones has been part of Make Food Not Waste since planning began in August 2017. To the few that may not know Chef Phil, he is a generous, tireless advocate for food sovereignty, food justice, and food security who happens to cook amazing food.

Chef Phil has inspired a group of local chefs to be part of Make Food Not Waste, providing a platform for chefs to showcase their creativity in using food that would otherwise go to waste and encouraging cooks of all abilities to make the most of food.

Event-goers had a chance to sample dishes made by some of Detroit’s most interesting and creative chefs including:

Kate Williams, Lady of the House
