Freezer

We’re raising $50,000 to provide 500 delicious, nutritious, frozen meals each week to people facing food insecurity. Packed with veggies and made with love, these long-lasting meals will be available for people to reheat and serve right away, or save for later.

Keeping food out of landfills. For good.

Because wasting food impacts everything.

Money
The average person throws away nearly $800 a year of food they never eat. The average household, nearly $3,000 a year. In Michigan alone, $6 billion in groceries end up in landfills every year.

Health
Food that rots in landfills pollutes Michigan’s air, land, and water, strains local infrastructure, weakens the supply chain, and contributes to health issues communities feel every day.

Food Security
40% of all food is thrown away—while millions of families, students, and seniors struggle to afford groceries and access fresh, healthy meals.

The Places We Love
Wasted food stresses our lakes, economy, and favorite recreation spots by contributing to closed beaches, algal blooms, and reduced wildlife populations.

We keep food useful, moving, and out of Michigan’s landfills.

Every Bit Counts

Giving Michiganders simple, practical ways to waste less, save money, and make their food go further. We’re working across Southeast Michigan to make food waste prevention, rescue, and collection happen at scale. When we all work together, change is easy.

Upcycling Kitchens

Turning wholesome surplus food into nutritious meals for people who need them most. Our professional chefs use their creativity and passion to make the most of our resources, turn excess into access, and redefine charitable food.

MI 2030 Food Waste Coalition

Bringing together cities, counties, businesses, and nonprofits to align resources, share data, and accelerate Michigan’s path to cutting food waste in half by 2030. From school cafeterias to composting services, we’re helping Michigan reach its diversion goals by working together, not in silos.
